Bronchiectasis Shift Dress, 2017.
In 2016 I was diagnosed with bronchiectasis, a chronic lung condition where the airways in the lungs become widened and cannot clear themselves properly, mucus builds up and infections can occur causing further damage.
In 2017, ‘Seam Collective’ had a very successful exhibition called ‘Shift Works’ and each artist made a shift dress in their chosen medium. My dress was made entirely from stitch and had a large geometric design based on the ‘signet ring’ shape, the classic marker for diagnosing bronchiectasis.
